Personal Perspective Paper

In life, we all strive to improve ourselves in different ways through different venues. My personal endeavor resides in the improvement and enhancement toward education that will in turn help me in my career. In searching through many universities and researching my financial options, the University of Phoenix stood out among the rest as the ideal college for pursuing my graduate degree. The institution allows for a variety of degree choices that can suit a wide range of fields and the information provided allowed me to recognize the degree that best fit the career path I wanted for myself. My ambition to complete the Master of Business Administration and Health Care Management (MBA/HCM) program stemmed from the flexibility in balancing work and completing my degree at University of Phoenix online.

In talking with upper management at my facility, they view a master’s degree as crucial for understanding the essential management skills needed to function effectively in health care administration. For health care specifically, I believe that employers are more attracted to the leadership ability, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking skills of a person with a MBA/HCM or a Master of Health Administration. They are specialized degrees that incorporate business management skills with today’s health care delivery system. Pursuing this degree will help to improve my proficiency in leadership, team functionality, communication, and knowledge of management problems and solutions. Through hard work, good study habits, determination, and consistent performance I strive to advance my education in this particular field and develop myself as an individual, and as a leader. By seeking to expand my intellectual curiosity and learning, I believe that beginning my MBA/HCM is the next step toward personal and professional growth in this industry.

The most recognized benefits of completing an advanced degree such as a MBA are the increase in living and wages. From a personal and professional standpoint, the largest benefits to be gained in completing the MBA program are greater career opportunities, salary advancement, the prospect of studying with experts in the same field, and networking. Having a MBA opens many doors that would otherwise be unreachable. Another aspect I keep in mind is should
