Personal Perspective

There are many reasons a student would pursue a graduate level degree. Some do it to impress the family, others do it for the prestige, and yet others seek the challenge of higher education. This student decided to seek his Master of Business Administration (MBA) for different reasons. The following paper will address some of the reasons this student chose the MBA program as well as what he expects to gains from completing this MBA program.

Reasons for MBA

Many business professionals seek their MBA each year. This degree allows them to get in the door of a major corporation if he or she is just starting his or her business careers while others use their MBA to seek promotion within the organization he or she is currently employed. This student is pursuing his MBA for different reasons. Presently this student is unaware of his exact long-term career goals, but he believes that in order to be successful in any career path he should choose, furthering his education is important and doing so is wise. One must prepare himself or herself with the necessary tools that the current job market looks for. Earning an MBA is very advantageous because regardless of what career path one may choose he or she must use many of the skills taught in the MBA program to earn future business. He also believes the MBA is valuable because business is a universal market and he is very interested in exploring overseas.

Expectations of MBA

Nothing is promised to any of us, but by arming yourself with special skills, trades and degrees is essential in separating oneself from the rest of his or her peers. The job market is tough enough to penetrate if one is prepared but landing a good job is almost impossible if he or she does not have the proper skill set or education level that many employers are seeking.
