Written and directed by the Wachowski Brothers, released in 1999

Larry Wachowski was born on June 21, 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. His brother Andy Wachowski was born on December 29, 1967 in Chicago Illinois. They started out as comic book writers but then got into the movie business. Their first movie was Bound, which was released in 1996. The also wrote Assassins for Richard Donner. They wrote and directed The Matrix, and it was released in 1999. The Matrix won four Oscars, one Grammy, and an MTV Movie Award. They like to play the audiences perception so that the audience doesn't know what is going to happen next.

Sequence

This sequence takes place towards the end of the movie. It begins in the lobby of the building where the agents are holding Morphius captive. Neo and Trinity are trying to rescue Morphius. When they walk into the building they must first get through the security guards before they can do anything else. After that they get on the elevator and then stop it. They then get on top of the elevator and shoot the wires after they attach a clamp that will take them to the top of the building.

This sequence begins with a ground level pull back dolly shot of Neo entering a building through rotating doors.

The camera straight cuts a reverse angle shot of Neo entering the building. The camera pans down to the bag that Neo is placing on to the conveyor

belt that takes it through the x-ray machine.

The camera straight cuts to the red lights that are flashing on the metal detector that Neo walked through. The camera pans down to Neo with a medium close up shot.

There is a straight cut side angle shot of a security guard approaching Neo and asking him to remove any metal objects that he may be carrying.

There is then a straight cut close up of Neo opening his trench coat and revealing the weapons that he is carrying. The camera then pans up to Neo's face.

Straight cut reaction shot of the guard as he sees the weapons that Neo is carrying.

There is then a straight cut side angle shot as Neo hits the security guard in the chest, killing him.

There is then a straight cut shot behind the security guard. The camera shows the security guard falling down in slow motion.

There is then a straight cut reaction shot of other security guards.

There is then another straight cut reaction shot of another security guard.

The camera straight cuts back to behind the security guard that is falling backwards. This time the guard is falling at normal speed. When the security guard has fallen off of the screen you see Neo holding two guns pointed to opposite side of him. The guns are pointed at the other guards. Neo begins to fire at the other guards.

There is a straight cut reaction shot of the guards getting shot.

The camera goes back to a straight cut side angle shot of Neo shooting the guards.

There is then a straight cut side angle shot of the two security guards to the left of Neo getting shot.

The camera straight cuts back to a side angle shot of Neo shooting the security guards.

There is then a straight cut to a frontal view of a security guard getting shot.

The camera then straight cuts back to a side angle shot of Neo finishing firing his weapons at the security guards.

There is then a straight cut reaction shot of a guard backing into a wall while calling for backup. The camera then starts in for a close up but doesn't go in for an extreme close up.

Straight cut to a 45-degree angle frontal shot of Trinity walking through the metal detector. Camera goes to a close up as Trinity pulls out a gun.

Straight cut reaction close up shot of the guard turning and preparing to fire his gun.

Straight cut frontal shot of Trinity firing her gun at the guard.

Straight cut frontal shot of the security guard getting shot.

Straight cut shot of Trinity as she brings her gun down to waist level.

Straight cut overhead shot of Neo and Trinity with the dead guards around them. Trinity goes to pick up the bag that Neo had put through the x-ray machine.

Straight cut close up of the bag as Trinity picks it up. Camera zooms out to show Trinity and Neo walking. They both throw down their weapons and Neo draws two more. As they walk the camera pulls back with them and then stops when they stop.

Straight cut to a ground level shot of more guards running into the lobby. The camera pulls back with the security guards as they enter the room.

Straight cut frontal view as the guards enter the lobby. The camera rotates to show the guards coming in and taking position to fire on Neo and Trinity.

Straight cut frontal shot of a guard coming up against a pillar and cocking his weapon. The camera rotates to show another guard doing the same thing.

Straight cut wide-angle shot to show more guards taking positions against pillars
