Water Resource Challenges

Axia College of University of Phoenix

I believe the main resource problem in the video is the overfishing of the oceans natural resources. The environmentalists are trying to say that the angler are overfishing the seas and are requesting no fish zones in the ocean. The man in the video wants them to make a decision that would balance the economy and the environment.

My plan for sustaining overfishing in the ocean would be to hold meetings, education programs, or even get the news involved in the population eating more farm-raised fish rather than eating the fish that come from the actual ocean. 1) Research the effects that overfishing have on the environment. 2) Develop an education program. 3) Schedule a day and time of community meetings... 4) Invite any in the community to come and listen.

First, I am going to research the effects by checking the internet and going to conservations to find statistics. I would also check the library, as well as the Fish and game and the wild life conservation. I would also start interviewing the angler; they would be the first person to be able to tell what is missing out of their nets every time they pull them up. Secondly, I would need to hire an environmentalist, and a Marine Biologist professor to educate the community. Thirdly, I would reserve a banquet hall or a park near a ocean or a pier to give that added touch. My fourth and final would be to send out a mass letter to the surrounding cities to come and listen. I would also run a commercial or two, and billboard signs.

My timeline for the project is as follows: Months 1-3 I will conduct the research needed to inform the community of the effects the overfishing have on the environment. Months 3-4 develop and education program. Months 4-5 I will schedule a day and time for the community will meat and then invite them to that place.

The opposing views on this subject would be that the angler make a lot of money to go out and risk there life’s so we can have fresh fish. In addition, we Americans will spend the money to buy the fish that are caught. Many Americans are spoiled and will not eat farm-raised fish; they want the fresh fish from the ocean.

Not only is overfishing a problem, you also have pollution from the boats that charter the
