Career Progression:

Synchronization of all musical instruments is crucial to the outcome of a song. A good team leader begets a good team co-ordination. As a student coordinator of my college music band “Tek-Music”, I successfully steered my team to emerge winners for the first time in cultural music band contest held by National Institute of Technology, Trichurapalli. A strong foundation and practice in music is essential for an individual to be a part of music team. I like to bring to the corporate world, the same sense of team co-ordination that can work wonders.

As a Mechanical Engineer from the reputed college, I have my foundations laid strong with a blend of industrial visits & innovative team project works such as Fabrication of Remote Controlled Ornithopter by availing 3D printing technology services in our college. My strong foundation, project works and musical background fetched me placements in Larsen & Toubro Limited, India’s engineering giant.

During my days as a graduate engineer trainee, I was assigned to work as a manufacturing planner for fabrication of structures to meet the installation requirements. I identified a potential delay in plate forming operations that used to take 12 days per structure. I came up with a conceptual sketch to make an in-house Line press that could bring down the cycle time to 3 days. My presentation to General Manager led to immediate sanction of the project and a dedicated team was formed to design and develop the same. The benefits that we would reap as a team inspired us to accelerate the development of the machine. The machine has brought down the overall plate forming cycle time from 480 days to 120 days

The success paved way for me to work with special teams dedicated to cost cutting and process standardization measures as additional assignments. The strong foundation in Mechanical engineering led me to offer innovative designs to improve productivity from marking 15 cable tallies per day to 250 cable tallies per day, to reduce set up time in pipe beveling machine from 40 minutes per pipe to 10 minutes. My ability to adapt well with diverse teams and produce desired outcomes fetched me highest ratings for three consecutive years. I was elevated to Assistant Manager (Covenated cadre) for Production Engineering and Strand jack, in a short span of 1.5 years. I am currently spearheading a team to design a universal hydro test platform which will bring down the cost of conducting hydro test from 100 million to 2 million. I persuade my team members to conduct kick off meetings involving experienced people including senior workmen to collate their inputs and tailor designs for ease and simplicity of operation.
