Aa Paper

In this paper, I plan to discuss with you all the effects and consequences of alcohol and alcoholism. Recently, I have been attending alcoholic's anonymous classes and from that, I have learned many things when it comes to anything alcohol related. I plan to inform you all about some of the consequences of alcohol, and give you a little insight to some personal experiences that I have had with it.

Prior to AA, I wasn't aware that about 14 million American's are alcoholics. All it takes is one alcoholic in every family to really ruin family functions and traditions as well as make the entire family miserable. Considering that there are one in each family, up to 14 million families could be affected, all because of one little drink, which turns into another and ultimately another. Also prior to AA, I wasn't aware that alcoholics will spend almost all of any money that they can get their hands on, on alcohol. In AA they explained to us that alcohol is a drug, and I couldn't agree more. Alcoholics are a lot like drug addicts, they pheen for alcohol like druggies pheen for drugs.

Something else that I learned that amazed me is that alcohol leaves the body extremely slower than most people are aware of, at a rate of 0.15 percent an hour. For instance, alcohol exits the body so slowly that, you can finish a beer at 1:00 am and you will still fail a breathalyzer test at 7:00 am. That is something that I don't think that most people are aware of and should be. I know a lot of people who will stop drinking about an hour before they are going to leave to go somewhere so that they can, "Sober up", when actually they would need to stop drinking many hours before to be "sobered up." I think that the general public should be taught things like that, because it can honestly save yours or someone else's life.

Finally I would like to discuss with you a situation that arose in my personal life, which was alcohol related.
