Propaganda shares techniques with advertising and advertising can be thought of as propaganda that promotes a commercial song or builds the perception of an Emo Band. Individually propaganda functions as self-deception. Emo music is a medium for propaganda as their lyrics are intriguing and persuasive. This leads to how they advertised their bands. Emo bands need advertising campaign to generate their income. Through mostly printed media, they used illustrations and words that are seem to be propaganda.

Propaganda can be said as a type of message presentation or media aimed at influencing the thinking perception or behavior of people, rather than providing information. There are many ways to do propaganda and some of them are directly noticeable. One of the methods that obvious for propaganda is by using an appeal to one's emotion. As for the term of Emo music, emotional is the subject.

Some people may find the term "Emo" amusing and controversial. The term "Emo" is frequently used to describe a genre of music which are usually defined to have its roots in punk music and alternative rock music. (Emo, 2007) "Emo" often refers to a person's fashion, personality, or both, as well as the music genre. (Emo, 2007) Emo bands can be distinguished from other bands by the meaning of emotional lyric. (Emo, 2007) The method of propaganda is essential to the word's meaning as well. A message does not have to be untrue to qualify as propaganda. (Emo, 2007) The term Emo was derived from the fact that members of a band would spontaneously and strongly emotional during performances. (Emo, 2007)

That is some of the lyric from "I Don't Love You" by My Chemical Romance whose musical focus is the genre of Emo. Generally, male Emo artist indicates that males are seen as the weak partner in a relationship. (Emo Music, 2007)

Emo music is an effective media to deliver the term propaganda because it persuades people behavior and perspective. Not everyone can enjoy Emo music as Emo music are mostly hardcore and does not always fit in some people's ears. Emo music has creates propaganda itself for people who does not listen to it. People who do not listen to Emo music have classified Emo music as violence but on the contrary Emo lyrics are mainly about love.

That lyric is from an Emo band called Glassjaw. The question is why doesn't society comment on his language and blatant disregard for this particular woman? This Emo band has succeeded in fooling its audience and not allowing them to realize that the genre has still reduced women to sexual
