In group decision making the group brainstorms and often generates many alternative solutions. Group decisions can also lead to conflicts when a member or members disagree or cannot come to one conclusion. Whereas individual decision making has limited information to process and they use heuristics and have a tendency to satisfice.

The implications of social influence are that comparison and social viewpoint have a tendency to influence the perception of others in the group. When objective information is not accessible, people have a tendency to formulate their own opinion. With organization, decisions are more than likely made using the social comparison theory. To test their decisions, they have meetings to discuss their ideas with other members. A lot of times with organizations the opinion and the abilities of the employees are often overlooked.
