Why the Internet is Important to Me

The internet is important to me for several reasons; I use it for home, school, and entertainment. The internet makes it possible to do certain things quick and easy, that would otherwise take several days. If it was not for the internet I would probably be lost.

The number one reason the internet is important to me is for school purposes. It makes life so much easier, because I can do everything at home. It makes school registration fast, easy and convenient because I do not even have to leave my house. It is also helpful when I have school projects to do because there is so much information on the internet that I can choose from. I am not limited to just a few books that can be checked out at the library. I have thousands of different web sites to select from. Even encyclopedias are on line, that I can retrieve information from. The internet also helps with financial aide for school, I can find any information on it that I need to know. I sometimes even use a search engine for my own needs. For example, when I want to learn about something on my own or when I need to a find business.

I also find the internet to be important to me because I can find old friends. For instance, people I grew up with or people I went to school with. It is hard to keep up with my friends when either I or they move or transfer to another school. No matter where I go I can always find that person on the internet. Whether, it is through a web site or someone who knows that person. Another reason is that I like to email my friends. That is usually how I communicate with them through the internet, because I am so busy I do not get to see them that often. The same goes for my family too, since a lot of them live out of state.

I also like to just get on the internet for my own entertainment. I like to get on line and play games. There are several game web sites that I enjoy
