The Artic Incident

The world's youngest, brightest, and most dangerous criminal mastermind returns. Artemis has to deal with the possibility that his father may still be alive after the "artic incident." Artemis is at St Bartelby's School for Young Gentleman in Ireland, when he suddenly receives an urgent call from Butler, Artemis's bodyguard, on his cell phone from someone who claims to know that not only is his father still alive, but that the Russian Mafia is holding him hostage. Artemis had never thought he would see his father again. Artemis with his former kidnap victim, Captain Holly Short, an elf officer with the LEPrecon squad meet again.

Artemis aboard a train in Ireland rushes to his fathers rescue. He is stopped by a familiar nemesis, Captain Holly Short of the LEPrecon fairy policy. The LEP is having trouble with goblins trading with humans. Artemis is a suspect and is to be brought underground for questioning by Captain Holly Short. After the fairies discover that Artemis is innocent, they decide to ask him for help finding out who is behind it. Artemis agrees to help the fairies only if they help him bring his father back from Russia. Captain Holly Short, Artemis, Butler and Commander Root set off together, but time may be running out for Artemis' father. Artemis tracks down his father, and a war breaks out down under between the LEPrecon and Opal Koboi. Koboi Labs manufactures most of the LEP's equipment. She had designed everything so she could remotely sabotage it and render the LEP's useless. She plans to take over the entire world with the assistance of Briar Cudgeon, a former LEP officer who was discharged following the Fowl incident. Her plot soon fails when Fowl and his accomplices reveal Cudgeon's true intentions.
