I still can't believe it could happen to us, what did we ever do? The horror is still fresh in my mind, the destruction, and the death. Last month, an atomic strike destroyed most of Canada. We were the lucky ones, the one's out in the country who no one bothered to bomb. When we went to the city to buy some goods, I can't describe the horror. The electricity being out for an entire week should have given us a clue. How could we have prepared for such a catastrophe? What could we have done?

Obviously we can't stay in Canada. We're already dieing off because radiation poisoning. Those of us still alive are taking a yacht down to some Pacific island that's hopefully rich in food, coconuts, and fish etc. Hopefully we'll have enough food to get us there. I hope the rest of the world is okay. I hope we're not the last people.

We've got a long way to go. We need to set some form of government so we don't descend into complete chaos. I bet most of the other survivors, if there are any other survivors, are just descending into an uncivilized, and barbaric existence. I don't see any reason for that. We can rebuild, we can repopulate, but we must start at the beginning. We must wait for the radiation levels to go down. We simply must not lose hope for survival. There must be some countries that remained unaffected by the nuclear war that was so devastating here, so catastrophic.

I don't know about the other survivors, I don't even know about the survivor's I'll be traveling with, but I do know that I for one will never give up hope. The human spirit of endurance and survival will live on.
