I. Introduction

a. Opening device: Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the premier of Perfect Strangers.

b. Thesis statement: This evening I have the pleasure of introducing to you to the star of this film.

c. Preview of main points: But, before she comes out, I would like to tell you a little bit about 1) her start in performance, 2) her film career, and 3) her accomplishments.

II. Body

a. Her love for performing started at a young age.

i. At age 17 she won Miss Teen Ohio and Miss Teen USA.

ii. She then decided to dedicate herself to pursuing a career in entertainment, so she moved to New York and became a catalog model.

iii. Her exposure then lead to her first Television role on a show called “Living Dolls”

( Now that I have let you know a little about her start in the industry. Let me share a little about film career.)

b. Her big opportunity was given to her by the director Spike Lee.

i. In her first major film, Jungle Fever, she played the roll of a drug-addict and earned her reputation for her on-set tenacity.

ii. In Die another Day, she showed the world her beauty and talent by playing the infamous part of a Bond girl.

iii. She proved her award-winning talent in, Monster’s Ball .

(Tonight’s star has had many great triumphs throughout her career and is no stranger to accolades.)
