Computers are a key part in modeling the lives and shape of the next generation. Over the past years computers have become amazing devices that allow the working community to store, receive, send, and share information with one another. Due to the rapid increase in technology computers have evolved from big boxes that filled the room to handheld portable machines zipped up in a bag. Professionals say that if the car industry was to live up to the computer industry, a decent car would be worth a dollar each. It's not only the manufacturers that have done a superb job, but its also the programmers who spend their time to make software for the customers. By the next hundred years, technology will rain down upon as the people will control their every thought and action.

Is borrowing somebody else's idea stealing? Are there laws that state that the person who borrowed the specific ideas without legal rights will be penalized? Must a person obtain copyright laws or legal rights for a certain product? Without copyright law, would you be able to share your work with the world? When a person buys a copy of an item he or she does not realize that somebody or someone has taken time to create that specific object. However, in another situation for example furniture, the buyer checks to see where it's made in, what the quality of the material is, the shape of the object, and other factors which determine whether quality is ensured. Copying somebody else's work with legal rights and the permission of the owner is allowed. Stealing the creator's idea is prohibited and if caught with an illegal object there could be harsh consequences. Any where in the world if someone is seen dealing or even talking about the piracy of something with copyright infringement can be questioned, but how about when your burning a CD or downloading music off a P2P program. Doesn't the surfer realize he is stealing someone else's work? When someone is using Microsoft Office that was burned off the computer, doesn't the consumer realize that every letter he is typing on the program is illegal and doesn't abide with the copyright rules. Small ideas that don't compute so quickly in the mind of people are linked back all the way to the big thing (the creator of the software). So how must a programmer feel if he or she knows that all these unauthorized dealings are going on behind their back? This is one of the programmers' main concerns although they issue legal copies of the software. How is it possible for the programmer to differentiate the original from the fake copy? How can the programmer ensure that each CD contains the copyright laws? This is a key problem that many programmers face and really it is up to the consumer of the pirated copy to decide whether taking the idea illegally abides by the laws. People copy MP3 files, CDs and/or DVDs and then give out their copy for others to use. Teams of programmers work for years perfecting a program. Money lost due to sales not made only increases the cost of those programs to those who purchase them legally. Song writers, producers, assistants, musicians, sound tech, and many others also spend many years working on songs and then lose millions of dollars every year as their songs are given away freely. Many programmers have tried to lock their ideas by placing locks and codes on the program. Once the buyer purchases the program the codes such as the serial number are revealed to him. However, the black market has also taken care of this by decoding the barriers created by the programmers. Different patches and generators are set up for the user to get past. Programmers must create a more difficult wall of security and this will prevent the consumers to find an easy solution to get to their program. Nowadays in DVDs, when an original is burnt, there is a data part of the DVD that shuts down. When the CD is uploaded, the screen resolves in an error and asks for the original CD that came with the case. Cracking the programmers codes is becoming harder and harder for the community to get. Therefore more licensed programs are being bought buy the public. Price is another factor that damages the computer industry. If a person were to own a copy that was free of charge, then who or what would push them to purchase an original. Some programs are overpriced which makes people have second thoughts on the product. Programmers have to put a reasonable price tag on the products so that the public would pay the price rather than work for piracy. Some company's benefit from the piracy of computer products and other gimmicks. Results suggest that the Microsoft Company has lost tens of billions of dollars as a result of illegal software copying. If they actually used their own software that they sell, then they only would have bought a fraction of that $20 billion worth of software. Microsoft's copying of illegal software reduces sales of other companies thus increasing Microsoft's market share. Dependence on Microsoft's software increases because of the illegal copying. Microsoft had gone through the processes of casual and organized piracy which allowed it to become the peak of a million dollar project which forces user to pay annual tributes to mount on their success.

What is the real meaning of hacking and what is its purpose in a programmers and computing world. Hacking has become an activity that holds two positions, both for its inventiveness and for its devious acts. The ethics behind hacking and the actions taken by hackers are of making the computing world tighter with security.
