Barack Obama is undoubtedly one of the most influential African Americans of today. Yet, Obama has suffered opposition from all sides. Obama has had a diverse political and legal career. Obama graduated from Columbia University and organized a public housing project on Chicago's South Side. Three years later, after graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law School. Obama returned to Chicago in 1992 to coordinate a massive voter registration campaign that registered more than one hundred thousand voters and helped secure the elections of former President Bill Clinton and Senator Carol Mosley Braun. Even though he was well qualified to work at large corporate firms, instead, he rejected them and fought against housing and employment discrimination at a local civil rights firm. I believe this was done to help set his foundation as a future president candidate. I feel he was thinking way ahead of time of what this could do to enhance his future candidacy.

Barack is a visionary leader. He not only has a clear idea of what is possible, he is involved in bringing it about. In his first steps of the presidential bid, Senator Barack Obama announced the formation of the exploratory committee that would focus on the issues plaguing African Americans. His vision requires total involvement, tremendous work, and a willingness to put everything on the line. One of the first things he would do in a run for president would be to develop an urban agenda to tackle issues. Barack Obama has been traveling the country talking to people about the challenges the nation faces, the opportunities ahead, and the role that a presidential campaign might play in bringing the country together. Barack wants greatness and is reaching through time to bring out the best the world has to offer. Barack states how critical it is for the American people to be involved with the voting process. He believes his strategy can really help be put into place if everyone votes, especially African
