There have been many debates on whether not drugs should be legalized. States such as Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Nevada, Oregon and Washington have all legalized the use of marijuana for medical necessity only. Although most drugs lead to addiction and dependents, it is the user’s choice to take these risks and suffer. I believe marijuana (not so much cocaine, or meth etc.) should be legalized because I think once given a choice; most will make the right decision. By legalizing the use of marijuana I believe that the crime rate will decrease drastically. This is because, not that I would know…..but most of the dealers and users do it for the rush. Also everyone knows that marijuana has medicinal values, no one has ever died from smoking marijuana and it also enhances your creativity level.

But in all fairness there are certainly disadvantages to the legalization of

marijuana. There aren’t many but some disadvantages are that legalization will

make the drug readily available to our country's youth, and marijuana can be

dangerous, and may cause lung cancer. In my view the benefits clearly outweigh the

disadvantages, and could
