Managing Conflict 

2. Explain why you selected this specific skill. Briefly and in your own words describe your personal leadership style and the  personal  challenge (related to your style) that you were trying to overcome. (1 mark)  

Managing conflicts is considered to be one among the main areas where the unity of the group matters. I tend to get more personal with co-workers and so with conflicts so I need to improve myself in handling conflicts by maintaining harmony in team. 

3. Outline at least two personal benefits you expect from developing fluency with this skill. Ensure that the benefits relate to the challenge identified above. Remember, these are personal, not business related benefits. (1 mark)  

These skills will help me be matured in my conversations with my friends and families in any kind of arguments. 

It’s a vital skill to test my temperament with certain situations even in personal life. 

4. Briefly describe the situation where you plan to apply the skills. Explain why the use of this skill is appropriate in this situation. (1 mark)  

This skill is mainly useful during discussions in group during decision making. Helps to resolve various mindsets of various people in implementing a new decision. 

5. Describe the preparations (readings, research, interviews with experts, notes, etc.) you made in order to use the skill effectively.  (1 mark)  

Many a times I have been in discussions with my seniors and there have been times where we get into conflicts while sharing each of our thoughts. After a while I try to avoid the conversations in order to avoid these conflicts. I need to work on this skill and improve. 

6. Describe how you established an appropriate climate with the individual or the group in order to use the skill. This means, how did you prepare the people you  interacted with, to feel comfortable and ready to be with your new approach? (1 mark)  

I discussed the people about my efforts to develop my skills and asked them help me evaluate myself. 

7. Describe your actual use of the skill (step by step and in detail) and the impact you observed on the people and process involved as a result of your intervention.(1 mark)
