Lanzhou education system and Australian education system have some similarities and many differences. The two methods of education have similarities in the school system and types of school but differ in curriculum, timetable and standards of learning.

The two systems own similar school system. Lanzhou and Australian capital territory, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria systems have six years for the preparatory school, three years of junior high school and also three years for high school. However, students in Western Australia, South Australia and Old Navy spend seven years in primary education and two years of junior high school.

Type of school in Lanzhou nearly same as Australia. They have public schools for free, private schools, boarding schools and single sex school. While Australia has more chooses, like religious schools and philosophy schools.Students in Australia have more opportunities to choose schools.

Subjects in Lanzhou and Australia are quite different. The both have English, Mathematics, Science and arts. Australian students could study more cause such as Students of Society and the Environment, languages, Technology and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. On the other hand, students in Lanzhou must choice Science (Biological, Physics and Chemistry) or art (History, Political, Geography) in high school. Plus, every high school students will learn Chinese, Mathematics and English.

Australian students are more flexible than Lanzhou, students in Australia have more time for free. The class begins at 8:45pm and finishes at 3:00am, and summer holiday students have six weeks for break and two weeks in the winter holiday.  However, in Lanzhou, class begins at 7:40pm and finishes at 6:30am. And every summer and winter holiday also have four weeks to break.

Standards of learning in Lanzhou education system are completely different from Australia. In Australia, there are thirty people in a class with highly trained teachers.When students in class, they can use technology equipped like computer, laptop, iPad to help them study. But in Lanzhou, it will be other situations. A class usually has sixty even eighty students. When teachers teach so many students, students forbid using electronic products.
