Ashton Waddington

Another Baskerville was killed from the frightening, gigantic, dangerous hound. “Fire burst from its open mouth, its eyes glowed with a smouldering glare, its muzzle and hackles and

dewlap were outlined in a flickering flame”( Doyle 111). It was the curse of the Baskervilles which haunted and killed each and every Baskerville. Many died, but Sir Henry Baskerville is the last heir and is still alive. In Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles. In this book there is the moor and Baskerville Hall as the main settings throughout the story. The moor is where the hound supposedly killed most of the Baskervilles. The moor is a foggy place were sometimes people and animals get lost and die. It also has many bogs, that engulf its victims. “That is the Grimpen mire, a false step yonder means death to man or beast”(49). Right next to the moor is Baskerville hall. Baskerville hall is the mansion that the Baskervilles have always lived in. “It was a fine apartment in which we found ourselves, large, lofty, and heavily rafted with huge bulks of aged blackened oak. In the great old fashioned fireplace”(43). It would be great to live at the Baskerville hall.

In this novel there are many main characters because they all are very important to solve the mystery.
