Earth Abides
Earth existed before mankind and earth will be there after. Despite man's
existence and countless attempts to change the earth, the earth will always prevail.
Ancient history has proven that great civilizations have emerged, prospered, and
vanished. Recent history displays that earth will, in time, correct man's negative impact
on the environment. In various doom's day scenarios earth may change but it still
prevails.
Ancient history has illustrated that civilizations go and come. Both magnificent in land mass and population the three prosperous Roman, Inca and Aztec Empires all were surprisingly conquered by opposing forces. In there place grew new civilizations. The quote "men go and come" has been proven numerously throughout history.
In recent history men have lived, developed and abandoned certain geographic areas of the world. The negative impacts man had on the environment are left behind. Continuously throughout the Industrial Revolution the mills and factories polluted the waters with their wastes. Nevertheless when left to themselves, the waters, over time came back to their original state. Man's initial destruction of many natural resources have thankfully replenished themselves. Even in very recent history people leave plastic bags and other trash that seems non-biodegradable. These too will disintegrate after time. Man has the ability to substantially change the earth, however, the earth will continue in an altered state.
Of the numerous dooms day theories the existence of mankind ceases. In the speculative theories of a nuclear holocaust,
