Introduction

There are many methodologies available that can help in producing, planning and designing a project. With information systems being varied in difficulty different approaches are needed to ensure that they are well planned and able to be completed in time. With each methodology there are several benefits and drawback as not all styles are appropriate for every project. Also with different emerging technologies there are many other tools that if developed further can help the project and overall the business. The main light is how the methodologies and tools will aid the business and be of the greatest help to them overall. In this paper we will discuss the different methodologies and tools and see how they will be of most value to the business.

What are methodologies?

"Methodology is defined as (1) a body of methods, rules, and postulates employed by a discipline, (2) a particular procedure or set of procedures, or (3) the analysis of the principles or procedures of inquiry in a particular field]. The common idea here is the collection, the comparative study, and the critique of the individual methods that are used in a given discipline or field of inquiry."(Wikipedia 1, 2006)

There are many methodologies that we can disscuss but due to the length of the paper we will be discussing the three most relavent ones to our client's project.
