Being Ordinary Person - Personal Essay

“Being Ordinary” seems to be just a combination of two words but has a very deep meaning in everyone’s life. For me to do something different which is ordinary then what other people do is what I always try to do when I have to accomplish something. But, for a while now especially at my work place I started feeling like I’m not myself and that also lead to my weak performance at work also in my college as I could not pay attention and was not interested in what I was doing according to how others want me to do it. I’m sure if I can work some things according to what I believe and what I should do then I can definitely perform better at my work and studies.

Last week through this exercise I tried to some stuff according to what I think I should do. I was given a project at my work that was to create a presentation on our company for the customers. They asked me to create it by just using Microsoft PowerPoint but they wanted me to be creative and innovative which I was convinced that I won’t be able to do a good job as it is my passion to create something unique and better but I knew I can do it by using different software’s which I have learned to use in my school and college. So, without being forced to sue Microsoft PowerPoint I used Prezi and Adobe Photoshop to create innovative pictures of the company including logo and made it look o amazing and attractive that our customers were so impressed by my performance that they praised about me to my colleagues and my boss. After that I was given a reward and I am so happy by myself because after a long time I actually did something which I thought I can and was good at. I listened to my voice and achieved as I thought I could. Now, I have earned respect at my work place and whenever they give me any project to do they ask for my suggestion first on how it should be created as well as for other projects that other people are assigned to do. I feel so proud of myself because of this assignment I could be myself and show my best performance.
