Dear Carrie,

My name is Rachel. I have been writing for about twelve years with the last six including real writing, such as stories, essays, biographies etc. Most of which has been school based. I am not all too fond of writing because it is a required part of the English curriculum which entails designated topics, particular styles, and prerequittal essay lengths. During my years of education, I have discovered a few of my strengths and weaknesses. For example, one of my strengths' is when given a certain length to write I don't have trouble reaching that goal. My weaknesses are that I don't feel I have the creativeness to put a piece together very well or I fall short of things to talk about.

There are many decisions to be made when putting together any kind of written item. All of the topics have to flow together and make sense. There has to be something that can pull in the audience and keep them interested. One can not be too general which will bore but also don't be too specific to where only a few can relate.

In my years of schooling, I have learned that English and writing is important and necessary in everyday life. English is used written and verbally. It is a very important subject because it is a way of communication, which is very important all around the world. How would businesses remain with out some sort of base communication? They wouldn't.

From letters to books to resumes, writing is used by everyone. Writing is something that will be used forever, whether it is on paper or electronic.

Sincerely,

...
