When I worked at a call center for a wireless company, I was promoted to master trainer. This job cam with more responsibility including hiring and firing employees and writing them up for misconduct. In my first week of the new position, three of my close friends who now worked under me got in to a fight on company grounds. This is against company policy and everyone knows it.

The conflict was that my friends though that because I was the supervisor and no one else saw what had happened I should over look their actions and not writes them. If I had done as they asked me and someone else was to report it I would be fired from my job. On the other hand, they where my friends and I did not want to see them lose their job either. This was a tuff spot to be in and I felt like no, after what I did I would be in the wrong.

In the end I did, what I thought was right and I wrote them up for having a fight on company property. However when I took it to my supervisor I explained to him in detail what I saw and what I had learned from interviewing them for the write up process. Because I took the time to listen to them and explained, it to my supervisor only one of them had to lose their job and I felt this action was fair.

The moral and ethical issue was that I had a responsibility to the company to uphold there policy and I had an obligation to my friends to not sell them out. I don't deal well with this type of situation I believe very strongly in loyalty and do my best to not ever break those bonds between my friends and I. but in this situation I would lose my job and my ability to care financially for my children but on the other hand I would lose 3 very good friends. I came to the concussion that they are all three adults and they all singed the same set of rules that I did in fact they worked there for two years be for I did and they made the bad choice not me so my friends would have to live with their choices.

I did the write up by company policy and gained the trust of my supervisor by telling him what was going
