Who Are You

Every person is born different with unique qualities which gives them an identity. Self identity is defined by the Webster's dictionary as "Awareness of and identification with oneself as a separate individual." The separation that a person gets from others comes from the decisions that they make in various situations. Sometimes decisions are influenced by others decisions or just by others presence. However, one discovers who they really are when they make the decisions themselves, not by imitating others actions. By making decisions themselves, people learn what different interactions are like and can either make the same choice again or prepare better for the future. Learning from previous mistakes is an integral part of creating a self identity that is different from others.

The way someone is raised and the environment around them influence the decision making skills that are different in everyone. People raised in a community where drugs are very accessible and where the majority of people in the community are involved with it might have different reactions to drugs. By observing others doing things like drugs, one might be more prone to experiment with it or might be completely turned away from drugs. This difference comes from the decision making of that particular person. No matter what the situation is, a person has the complete freedom of choice to do what they want to for good or bad. That is why self identity is formed by the individual and not by others. Even the smallest action that a person makes influences their self identity. People most of the time however make decisions based on a mix between their own feelings and others.

A person does not discover who they are by observing another but instead discovers who that particular person is. It is then the choice of that person to make their own path or go along with the others. Either way a choice is being made which shows that it is not the interaction of observing
