Final draft of story 2: The Only Great Inventor (1142 words)

The Only Great Inventor

By Dicha Vimolchalao

Good bye my sweetheart, good bye my son. Peter was sitting in a time machine. He had not much time to waste for going back through time to finish his missions. The great work of Einstein was unbelievably useful to him. Not long after, he would be moving close to the speed of light. The theory of relativity was going to take him back to the time that he wished, or is it going to kill him because of the malfunction of the black hole that the machine was making? Anyway, there was no turning back. He would be the only famous scientist when he got back here.

First, He set the machine to send him back to the year 1662. The machine’s outer shield span around. Inside the machine, Peter was sitting in a seat, and the sound of friction roared like the sound of an airplane. The time when I went back was just before the golden year of Sir Isaac Newton. He had already made a plan to disrupt Sir Isaac’s invention. He cut the entire apple trees around Cambridge University so the apple wouldn’t fall from the trees and wouldn’t cause Isaac to realize that there was gravity on earth. Furthermore, to make sure that he would never discover anything in the future, Peter grew Durian trees instead. Expecting one day, Sir Isaac would come to sit under my Durian trees. By doing this, He simply stopped Sir Isaac from developing the universal gravitation and the law of motion. He was, then, one step closer to be the only famous scientist in the year 2007.

Then for Benjamin Franklin, He went back to his time in 1726. The time machine span again. Black gases tunnel was coming toward him until he arrived at the destination. The destination was in front of Mr. Franklin’s house. His house was engulfed with darkness. There was a single lamp hanging on a wall at his doorway. Right then, he saw some body walking out of the house. The man slowly pace out holding a kite in his left hand. He walked pass Peter, who was eagerly waiting in the dark to confront his stranger. It seems like Peter already knew that he must be Benjamin Franklin because his portrait could be found in many books, so Peter followed Ben to see his experiment.

“Hello sir, You are Mr. Franklin right?” Peter asked the question which I think he knew the answer.

“You are right! And who are you? How do you know my name?” Ben replied.

“Because the people around here are talking about your lightning experiment, so I would like to share my knowledge with you” He suggested.

“What? You would like to shave your legs?” Mr. Franklin was staring at Peter from head to toe like Peter was an insane person.

“I don’t want to shave my legs sir, I said I want to share my knowledge about the lightning with you” Peter used a lot louder voice. I, then, remembered that I’ve once read his biography and it said that he was half deaf from an accident from his childhood. “Please imagine Mr. Franklin why does lightning strike on trees? Isn’t it because trees have routes which connected into the ground? Therefore, you should burry half of your body under the ground while you are flying the kite. Take your shoes off then, find a wet place to burry yourself in.” Peter said again.

He did as he was told from me. The lightning strike though the kite, and high voltage from the lightning reached and burned him. It must be because his heart rate increased too much, he died . . .”

Peter had gone back to many different periods of time in the past to eliminate important scientists. Everything was going well, and he was getting closer and closer to become the only great scientist.

The last great scientist was Mr. Einstein. Peter decided to eliminate
