Dan Brown is among the most intelligent and dynamic of authors in the thriller genre.The intricate blend of science and politics is what makes deception point an interesting read.

The story starts with the discovery of an astonishing rare object buried deep in the arctic ice ,the president dispatches Rachel Sexton ,daughter of nominee Senator Sedgewick Sexton a highly competent employee ,working for the little known but highly important White House intelligence agency NRO(National Reconnaissance Office).

Coming at atime when NASA's existence is threatened by expensive failure Rachel finds the discovery too coincidental. But outside experts like Michael Tolland, a world famous oceanographer convince Rachel of its authenticity. Just hours before the president announces this information, Rachel and Michael discover a deadly deception. Before they can go public with the vital information, a highly skilled team of special forces are sent to destroy the info and kill Rachel and Michael.

Battling nature's deadly elements as well as unstoppable killers armed with super weapons, the struggle of survival is worth mentioning. The book is an energetic thriller which sets your adrenaline pumping. The author writes a rocket fast thriller with enough twists and turns to keep the readers guessing. The highlighted point in the story is it skillful web of science, high-tech weapons, politics and intrigue.

The characters presented by the author are very strong and vary from each other. Rachel Sexton is shown as a strong headed, self made woman dealing with the difficulties of her relationship with her father. Michael Tolland, a producer of documentary films, is recruited by the president to produce a film on the arctic discovery. He is a good looking man with a charismatic personality and is dealing
