Should celebrities be entitled to privacy? Everyone is entitled to privacy and no one should be deprived of such a privilege no matter how rich and famous they are. Imagine your every move being watched.You would probably feel uncomfortable. This is what celebrities reluctantly experience on a daily.This is one of the biggest controversies in the world when it come to celebrity gossip.

According to Source A, it is unjust to say that because an individual possess the talent to play basketball, act, sing etc., they have “chosen to give up their privacy right. I agree with this statement because many famous individuals did not really plan for the fame, they were just doing something they are good at or love. There are many different individuals that play basketball, act, etc. but they still have their privacy. Why should it be a difference for celebrities? We are all human beings just living life. Why should their life be place under a microscope to be judged by others?

In addition, referring to Source D, here lies the proof that people are more interested in sports and news over celebrities lives. Coming from the “Average Circulation for the Top 100 ABC Magazines” the number one circulated magazine is the AARP Magazine which has an average circulation of 22,675,655 whereas the celebrity news paper STAR fall at the rank 59 and is circulated 1,428,767 which is a difference of

21,246,888. Since most people are not interested in celebrity lives, individuals should be given their privacy.

Finally, Source F states that “the concept of a right to privacy was articulated in an 1890 Harvard Law Review article by Louis Brandeis and Samuel Warren.” Additionally “ It took American courts 15 more years to recognize it.” As we can see, a lot of time, effort and thought was placed into the idea of “privacy”.
