The Lesson

The main character in the story is a girl name Sylvia; character in the story "The Lesson". At the beginning of the story, she explained to her friend, Sugar, and other kids about Miss Moore's character and gave her a nick name. She was headstrong strong when she was young. When they went to the toy shop, she was trying to argue with Miss Moore. That she was right, she tried to let her friends know who the leader was. At the end of the story, we could see that Sylvia was the most selfish character who could not listen to other people. "Sylvia" was the main character in whole the story.

The character "Miss Moore" was an old black lady with high education and a good heart. Her teaching skills include practicing in reality. She was very knowledgeable and patient to the kids. She is responsible for the things she have said or done. She decried the different ways of the new world to the kids, which helped them understand how money could trade for happiness. Miss Moore treated all the kids equally.

The narrator said Miss Moore was always planning to do something boring ass things. For example: Miss Moore rounded them up at the mailbox in the summer even though school has let up already. In fact, Miss Moore did there "boring" things, not only to make the relationship with her student closely, but also to know about what her student's thought about some problems were and how to help them. The thing which Miss Moore did were not boring, but were helpful for students.

The story made me remember myself, when I was younger. I was the same stupid and foolish. I always thought myself was right and I didn't listen to anyone.
