Many people enter college with their futures already situated in their minds. Their dreams and aspirations are already in place, set for them months or years prior to settling into their first college dorm room. They may choose to be a Nurse, Teacher, or a Police Officer. No matter the choice, there was some instance in their life when they chose that road. My choice was made in the front seat of my ninth grade Social Studies class. Being from a family where you are expected to be a great student, I always knew that I would succeed at what ever my future endeavors would be. My father said that he always knew that mine would be the Law. Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to be a lawyer, and for many including myself, it’s the prestige and income of the profession.

Prior to graduating from Westfield high school with honors, I learned of a new skill, leadership. This was displayed through many activities, whether it was in band where I was Captain of the Color Guard or being sectary of the FBLA, (Future Business Leaders of America) for consecutive years. I believe my ability to lead was best shown when I became Vice President of the Debate team. I knew that having this ability paired with essentials that the Debate team taught me would be vital in my successful career as a Lawyer.

Upon entering Prairie View A&M University I decided to explore more fields associated with Government as a potential plan B's. Becoming a Lobbyist, a Campaign Manager or a Legal Adviser are all careers that crossed my mind. These jobs are also very achievable with my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, which is also my current major. In college I was advised that a degree in English would be better suited for some one who wanted to pursue
