Homosexuals And Children

What is wrong with Homosexual couples adopting children? The same exact thing that is wrong with Homosexuals being allowed to acquire marriage certificates. It goes against every moral fiber given to us by God. My view on this comes from a Christian stand point so it is probably a little different then other peoples. The Bible says, in Leviticus 20:13, "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman; both of them have committed an abomination...." Homosexuality is wrong to begin with, so for a couple to get married and adopt a child is considered even worse.

One reason people consider it wrong is that the child would be ridiculed beyond reason for the rest of his life. When other kids or even adults, look at a child in that kind of situation they immediately think mean things. Bullies hassle children in general but having to of the same sex for your mom and dad makes you vulnerable. The child would be hassled at school, in restaurants, and even in shopping malls. Anywhere that the "family" would go someone is bound to say a mean thing to hurt that child or his/her parents. That child will be hurting for the rest of his life. Most likely he/she will decide to disown their parents when he/she is old enough.

Another stand point on this subject is if the child an orphan. In terms of, if his/her parents had died and the child was placed in a foster home. I know that if I were to die and have my kid put up for adoption, I would not want them adopted by a gay couple. The adoption of my child, especially if raised in a Christian home by me, would not be by a homosexual couple, or individual for that matter.

Another reason children should not be taken into Homosexual households is AIDS. Homosexuals are known for spreading AIDS immensely often and easily. AIDS is a horrible disease that has been known to be transmitted between gay men and women. No child should be subject to that at any age, let alone at a young one. Like Paul Sachdev, a professor at Memorial University in St John's, New Foundland, who teaches a course in human sexuality said, "For a while, people slowed down because of AIDS. Now, we are desensitized, the scare is at the back of the mind and there is more risk-taking." ( Driedger2) Since the subject has been put on a back burner so often we have kind of forgotten about it. We need to be kept aware of it and the fact that Homosexuals carry it more often than others.

Although, if you are really determined, there is always a way to get around everyone knowing you are a homosexual trying to adopt a child. If
