My Name
Have you ever wondered what your name meant? William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet had me thinking about what my name really meant.
I was named after a movie called "Pet Cemetery", when my mom watched the movie she was very fond of the name Gage and thats where I got my name from . The name Gage actually means oath or pledge in French. (nameberry.com) The name may also mean guarantee in faith.(google.com) The most kids were named Gage in 2009 it wasn't as popular as it is today. My mom liked the name because it was different then all then all the others they had thought of.
The name Anthony means praiseworthy or priceless one in Latin.(babynamescountry.com and nameberry.com) In Greek Anthony means flourishing. Anthony is my middle name, it was chosen because my mom liked the name and it was my fathers dads name. I don't like my middle name because of how common it is. The name anthony is ranked number eleven in the most popular names. (babynamesworld.parentsconnect.com)
My last name Giammarino was not as easy to find the meaning of. What I did find was it could possibly mean ambitious and silly. My last name I came up with no search results. I got my last name from my dads side of his family and my last name is Italian because it ends with an o. There is not much meaning to my last name.
Looking up my first, middle and last name was interesting to me and I learned many new things. I have not only learned what my names mean in general but I have learned why I got the names. I am glad that I did this project and learned as much as I did.
