• Violence could have long-term effects on children’s psyche

o A high state of violence in society, especially when there is a lack of a parental figure, could have a lasting impact on that child’s mind

o Violence becomes idolized, and a culture of conflict is created within the society

o This culture will continue unless some outside force changes the violent situation

• Given this fact and the current set of circumstances in Ethiopia, the stage could be set for long-term conflict

o In every one of our scenarios, conflict emerged in the end due to the both internal and external influences

 Conflicts in the bordering countries of Somalia and Sudan are causing refugees to locate in Ethiopia, putting a strain on resources

 The Ethiopian government’s alliance with the US in the Somalia war has given radical terrorist groups a reason to make the country unstableвЂ"if the current administration is out of power, they will have a much better shot at taking over Somalia

 The ongoing border conflict with Eritrea has caused Eritrea to form alliances with radical terrorist groups

 Feeling its power slip, the Ethiopian government has slashed civil liberties, silenced the media, and jailed and killed many of its opponents. This has caused rebellions in eight of its nine states

 Somalian and Eritrean forces continue to fuel these rebellions by giving money and weapons to the rebel forces
