The similarities show that “I’m not scared” and “Stand by me” both have younger characters as their main type of characters, and that they live in a place where the environment is hot and out in the country. Giving the impression that the children have grown up in a tough life. Making a good set for problems to occur.

Some differences between the two show that the world around them is different in a way for grown up, as in “stand by me” the parents are portrayed as useless, as they don’t care as much for the children. As in “I’m not scared” Michele’s parents are shown that they care about the younger children and that they look after each other’s siblings.
