Conclusion:

From our research into the Six Sigma process and its relevant application by organisations, we feel that it is undoubtedly a useful tool for businesses throughout the world. Six Sigma strives for perfection and as a result, any firms using this technique will enjoy increased efficiency, cost reduction and employee motivation. Although Six Sigma may appear to have some negative aspects in its early stages, in the long-term it will benefit any business which follows it thoroughly and implements it with the necessary support of the entire organisation. It is important for companies to realise that in order to make money, you have to spend money.

Although this method had primarily been used by major corporations such as GE, Dell, Motorola and many other organisations, it is now available to many small and medium sized corporations. We predict that these firms will utilize this tool and grow significantly over time.

In today's business world, it would appear that the majority of businesses have some form of Six Sigma in operation and those that do not would have a thorough knowledge of its workings and benefits. In order to attain customer satisfaction and loyalty, it is no longer sufficient to have average operations, but companies must become as close to perfect as possible. Six Sigma is a calculated and practical method that has stood the test of time and we feel that it will only continue to grow in the future.

"Six Sigma has spread like wildfire across the company and is transforming everything we do"
