Lifehouse: Days Go By

The lyrics in this song, tell you not to live in the past, don't fear what tomorrow may bring, live life for today. Appreciate what you have today in your life, live everyday as if it were your last. They say a lot about leaving what happened in you're past cannot be changed.

I chose these lyrics not only for what they say, but also due to the life experiences I have had. The fears of what tomorrow may bring to my life, the way I try not to reflect on the times of my life in which things happened that may not have been so positive. Try to look at life in a more positive way not only for today, bust also for tomorrow. Enjoy everyday to its fullest, embrace everyday with a positive outlook, and make it a day that will affect you positively for tomorrow.

In all of my life experiences, I find myself always reflecting back on one moment that stands out so strongly. That moment changed my life, it makes me look at everyday as this day is the day I need to appreciate and embrace every moment. Our family was in shock to say the least, but we all were very positive and said we will get through this no matter what. The doctor recommended, they do surgery immediately, this cannot wait. My father was reluctant to do so, being a man, he was afraid of what it may do to him as a man. Would he be able to be sexually active? Would this intern affect his love life? Would my mother look at him differently? So many concerns that seemed to be so trivial to us, but to him was of great concern. My mother explained to him that his life is much more important than his sex life with her and that she would not look at him any differently no matter what the outcome.

As I stood beside his hospital bed in support of him, we talked as if nothing were wrong. We spoke about the weather, what has been happening in the news, how my business was and many other everyday concerns. As we were talking my fathers eyes filled with tears, in all of my twenty two years I never had seen my father cry. I was so taken back by this, it almost seemed as if I was in a frozen state. I could not speak, I could not move, it was if time stood still and so did I. My father looked
