1. Apple: Apple creates strong hardware bases for the future of the internet and, due to this, they logically have a role in the ‘battle’ of competition by emphasizing on the specific hardware that has to do with mobile computing. Apple has determined that applications should be restricted to devices, as they are their main earners for the manufacturers of tablets and phones. One example is that one app should be one-of-a-kind in terms of how it works on the brand of the device it is being used and it should authorize the ability to function in many different device brands, as well. Apple is capitalizing their customer base to create Apple weds scenarios.

Google: Google believes in the concept of future devices being used to run applications, along with other internet options, as a fraction of the price and having creating revenues through advertisements within the apps. They even developed an application called AdMob to help. Both, Google and Microsoft do not have the same emphasis as Apple on hardware.

Microsoft: Microsoft laid a bet on operating systems that devices for mobile computing run. They made plans and goals to develop their hardware for computing as something new and therefore joined the same field as Apple and Google. By doing so, they changed the dynamics of the market. For Google and Apple, this can be a problem because their perspective will have to change due to the competition in the next few years.

2. Mobile computing are the actions that involve internet without being strained to a specific location. It is important for Apple, Google and Microsoft because it is the future of technology. For these three companies to be able to expand, they need to be effective with computing.

Apple provides iOS, which is a closed platform and is applicable to only Apple products. Some key features are: having an option to reply later to the calls you cannot make, integrating with Facebook to share more efficiently, and an app called Passbook where you can use your iPhone as a credit card.

Google provides Android, which is a universal platform and is open. Some key features are: a screen swipe giving you search results from Google and a voice recognition tool that works offline.

Microsoft is entering the market with the Surface Tablet, which is a mobile platform through the Windows phone. It will be compatible with, both, laptops and desktops. Some key features are: support core ships, advanced maps, Passbook wallet, etc.

3. Applications can range from larger businesses and smaller businesses. Large businesses such as ‘Sun Systems’ that process problems to a simple program. Applications are extremely important in today’s world. Mobile users are becoming more inclined towards certain products that have more variety than the other products. The development of apps to match consumer expectations is a task. Mobile applications have a wide scope of growth in the future that one day they can surpass the sales of mobile computing and form a major market in themselves.
