The advertisement I chose to write about was an ad for Heineken beer. It is a very simple ad, however, it is able to play on a very import issue, that to many people which is dating. The ad shows a single bottle of Heineken Beer with the caption, "Longing for a First Date to Go Smoothly". This essay will explain the why and the how the ad works as well as what the ad is trying to sell.

At first glance the ad seems to be very simple, however it is also very effective. It is able to capture the readers attention by playing on the nervousness of first dates. It presents the idea that if you drink a Heineken you will be more relaxed and have more fun on a date. This appeals to the majority of men and women who are nervous when they first meet someone. Heineken offers a way to break the ice on a first date.

This ad works by offering a sense of sercurity and confidence to men and women. It is saying that if you drink a Heineken your date will be more successful and smooth. Personally, I am always nervous when it comes to meeting someone for the first time in a dating situation. I am always looking for an ice breaker and trying to portry the image I believe the girl is looking for. To me, this ad offers a sense of hope that my date will not only go smoothly but also help me be myself.

is obvisously selling beer, but at a closer look it is also selling sercurity. Nobody wants to be in an akward siitution on a first date, This is giving the buyer a chance to relax and enjoy the night. Many things are being sold through this simple advertisement images of how you should be.
