Global Communications (GC) is a telecommunications company that was once an industry leader. With competition rising, it is time for them to make necessary changes to remain profitable and competitive. They are introducing new products and services to reach a global customer base. GC has partenered with a wireless provider and now offers saltelite broadband and video services. GC also wants to outsource its' technical call centers to Ireland and India. Outsourcing will lead to a reduction in costs and more expertise in technical support. The biggest challenge facing GC is the care and concern of their current employees, who will most likely lose their jobs..GC has the goal of becoming a global resource as a result of the high level of competition and depreciation in its stock value. . Over a three year period with the decline in profits of more than 50% the ability for the company to rebound is being questioned .Not being profitable creates problem and generates a huge downward spiral. Sales start to slow, creating less profit for the company. This in turn, creates doubt with investors. As a result, stock prices drop and ultimately, the future of the company is questioned. Global Communications is actively looking at solutions to this problem. By addressing this now, the company will have a very active future for employees and consumers. GC is taking action by improving technology and expanding globally. This will result in outsourcing thousands of jobs overseas and a layoff is expected. Alluding to contractual manipulation and unethical business practices the Union has elected to pursue legal action. Through the plans they are trying to implement, Global Communications is having difficulty communicating the information to their employees. Global Communications is know for treating their employees well, so they don't want to ruin that reputation because their employees are a vital part of the company
