Pressure is something that all college students have to deal with. This especially applies to college freshmen including myself. As a freshman, I have large responsibilities to take care of my grades while working hard on the basketball court and staying out of trouble off the court. The hardest part of school right now is staying on top of my studies. For one thing I am constantly tired from basketball practice and find myself dosing off in class at times, even though I try to stay awake. On the other hand I am a procrastinator and I do put my work off until the last minute. I have never claimed to be a great student but I know I do not apply myself the way I am capable of. I have some of the worst study habits anyone has ever seen but once again this is completely my fault and no one else. Even though I say these things I still have to give myself credit for almost always getting homework assignments done when possible. Even though school work plays a big part in the pressure a college student faces it may not be the most pressure they go through. Peer pressure from other students or even team mates is a big part of a college students life. Students can be pressured into things like drinking, doing drugs and other things that can harm a person. These things can potentially ruin the career of a student athlete. The easiest way to avoid these things is to use good morals and do the right thing. Pressure is definitely one of the most difficult things for college students to deal with but if it is dealt with the right way its effect can be stopped.
