The United States Postal Service has a feature that allows customers to have non-priority parcels scanned into the system so that a person can check to see if the parcel was delivered to the post office along with the date and location of the post office used. This feature is available if you use the PayPal system or Clip & Ship system to print your shipping labels.
If you want to see what the form looks like go to the USOS website and look for Form (PS Form 5630) it allows recipients to see that their package is on its way when they create shipping labels on their PC.
The SCAN Form features a master barcode that represents all of the packages in a shipment; it is scanned when the shipment is received by the U.S. Postal Serviceв„Ñž. This single scan enters all of the associated packages into the Postal Service Track & Confirm database as Shipment Accepted and allows both the sender and the recipient to see when the package entered the mailstream.
