A special interest group is usually any group or organization whose intent is to have an influence on public policy. Special interest groups can be found in most societies. In the United States, there are many special interest groups. For the most part special interest groups are formed for several reasons. Some of the interest groups are formed because of the many divisions in society such as income, religious, racial and cultural. Another reason that interest groups are created is because of politics. There is a decline in political parties which creates more of a need to create interest groups

* Your right to privacy - freedom from unwarranted government intrusion into your personal and private affairs. (ACLU.org)

The ACLU has two entities that it utilizes to promote and defend civil liberties. The two entities are the ACLU and the ACLU foundation.
