Afghanistan is a country which is in great need of help and relief from organizations. They have been devastated by war, and many of their children are not getting the education and life that they deserve. There are some organizations that are helping out in Afghanistan. These include UNICEF, International Committee of the Red Cross, War Child Canada, InterAction, World Vision and many other organizations across the globe. One of these organizations, American Red Cross, is is a major component in Afghanistan's aid and provides Afghans with much needed relief.

One of the programs that American Red Cross set up and funded was the School Supplies for Afghan Children. This is created so that Afghani children can enjoy the education that they need. The American Red Cross has delivered over 3, 000 chests to over 100, 00 Afghani students. In each one of the chests has school supplies for forty students, and has supplies which include pencils, erasers, rulers, chalk, tape measure, compassed, and also contains items to be used for recreation. Also, Blue Packs are being handed out, and contain many of the school supplies in the chests, as well as, brushes, combs, balls and jump ropes. Altogether, 130, 000 blue packs will be handed out.

The Red Cross Also has a plan called the Vaccination Capacity Building program, which goal is to give out vaccinations. The American Red Cross is supporting the hiring and training of 100 people as vaccinators, and this will benefit 250, 000 children. Also, the American Red Cross has joined forces with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and others to support a campaign to vaccinate 8 million Afghan children for measles, and also for vitamin A.

Since the need of emergency help for Afghan Children has risen, American Red Cross is giving six emergency health kits, which contain emergency supplies. These supplies include drugs, renewable supplies and equipment that will provide care for up to 10, 00 people, in a span of three months. These kits have also been given to refugee camps along the Pakistan border, as well as in Afghanistan. Also, four Mobile Health Units (MHU) have been deployed
