Marijuana and the effects of the Drug

I chose the topic of the effects of Marijuana because being in college you deal with it so often and you know the effects of it, but do you really? I have never done a research paper on Marijuana and it is the most used drug in the United States. Americans consume over 5 million pounds of marijuana per year. Now, I understand that many people have done reports on Marijuana and it is almost unoriginal to chose this topic. However, I am doing this for my own knowledge.

The book Understanding Marijuana by Mitch Earleywine goes into scientific detail about all aspects of Marijuana. The book addresses the history of marijuana along with the effects it has on the body. The book also talks about marijuana's effect on health and its medical use. The book addresses the scientific issues and the social issues. The book also offers very powerful statistics. For example, one in every three Americans have smoked marijuana. More people have died from aspirin overdoses in one year than people have died from Marijuana overdose in 4,000 years.

This is a very credible source. There were many books available about Marijuana but this is the one that grabbed my attention. This book covers every aspect of the issue of Marijuana. It is also very recent so the information and the statistics are still somewhat valid. The book offered facts and then backed them with research and that to me is a credible source.

2. Hochman, Joel. Marijuana and Social Evolution. Englewood Cliffs: Prentice Hall, 1972.

This book source focuses on the social aspect of Marijuana. The book analyzes the drug phenomenon and why people have tried it and when most people try it. The book goes into detail of some of the cosmic effects of Marijuana. The book also gives personal stories and experiences from people.

Now this book is probably more fun to read then the other book on Marijuana and this is because the book relates more to my demographic than the other one does.
