A Homeless Solution

San Franciscan's Are Fed Up. That was the headline displayed the other day as I read the news off the San Francisco Chronicle website. The headline pertained to the growing resentment city residents have of homeless people. San Francisco widely known as one of the most liberal cities in the nation has reached its boiling point. The city once know for having great empathy for the homeless are sick and tired of aggressive panhandlers & street squatters. In a recent poll taken by the local news ninety percent of respondents agreed with Mayor Newsom's plan to crackdown on the city's South of Market district. You know there is a problem on your hands when a city as tolerable as San Francisco is pushed to its limits.

It is clear that the greatest problem in our San Francisco community today is the sheer amount of homeless people infesting our city streets. They can be found in all corners of our city. Lounging on benches in our beautiful Golden Gate Park, infesting our lucrative tourist attractions in the downtown area, aimlessly wandering like nomads in our busy bus terminals. A simple solution can help solve not only our problems, but benefit those homeless who have found themselves in a really unfortunate situation, and would truly like to make an effort to turn things around. Therefore I say we create a pound for the homeless.

It is simple yet effective; similar to a dog pound we will round up all the homeless in our town and house that entire stray human population in several locations throughout the city. They will be hosed down and given second hand clothes donated by our generous San Francisco citizens. Once established, people can visit the pound and choose among the wide selection of homeless beings to take home. In exchange for food and shelter the newly adopted individual will do labor for their savior. This will continue until the person is able to find a job, move out and support themselves on their own. Funding for this will be very simple, we just take all our resources that are spent on financing homeless shelters and programs to feed the homeless and redirect it into this ingenious idea.

The homeless pound will resemble a prison with rows of cages to house each homeless person individually. They will be fed twice a day and allowed to exercise for an hour a day. In front of each cage there will be a white placard displaying a brief description of the individual. The description will include age,
