It has been talk and debated about for years over whether equal rights and equal protection against discrimination should be extended to homosexuals. Recently this has expanded into the area of marriage. The topic of homosexual marriages is a common issue today. Even in the nation's capital, representatives are finding ways to make this agreement unlawful. This topic has been debated on, bringing up many points, but the fact of the matter is that homosexual marriages are wrong and we, as a country, should not ignore such acts. Gay marriage is a difficult topic to debate. Many issues arise when it comes to this subject. It is a controversial issue, because you have those who are for it and then there are those who are against the whole idea. When dealing with such a topic you do not want to offend people by what you are saying, so be respectful. Even though you may not believe that there should be same sex marriages, you should always show respect, so watch what you say.

Same sex marriages are against the laws on nature, society, and religion. Marriage was never intended to include homosexual couples, and trying to redefine marriage to do so represents a gross misuse and abuse of that sacred union.

Marriage is the bond whereby men and women are joined in a special kind of social and legal dependence for the purpose of maintaining a family. Although some same sex marriages may be capable of managing financially, the negative influence on children raised in their household has been statistically proven. Not only would same sex families' deal with problems in terms of their children, but also most religions in the United States look down upon the union of same sex relationships and limit marriage to one man and one woman. Many critics hold opposing views, arguing that same sex marriages harm no one and that to deny them the right to marry is unconstitutional. I am not prejudges against any person. I also feel that same sex marriage is also wrong and immoral.

Although in the article Saying No to "I Do" many agree that homosexual marriages harm no one, this statement is completely false. As stated earlier, homosexual marriages have numerous damaging effects on children raised
