AJEGUNLE, the jungle city of Lagos will on March 10 this year be agog when the presidential candidate of the Fresh Democratic Party, Rev. Kris Okotie flags off his campaign in the place.

Rev. Okotie's decision to pick Ajegunle to kick off his presidential campaign was borne out of his resolve to continue his crusade of alleviating the problem of the masses.

He said he was not the one that chose Ajegunle but the Lord who sent to redeem the oppressed in Nigeria. "Ajegunle is a slum and my going there first shows that I am coming to serve the people who have been in darkness over the years."

The Fresh Democratic Party, he said, is now determined to give power to the people and by that Fresh going to Ajegunle is to show that power belongs to the masses and not the rich people.

According to him, "power must change, the people who have been ruling the country since independent are the same.

"What they do now is that they are gradually giving back power to their children. If you look at the composition of people in government today, they are either those who had served as military governors, heads of state or sons of past leaders."

"They behave as if the country belong to them alone and I'm saying this is the right time for the masses to challenge them and Fresh Democratic Party is prepared to lead the challenge and prove that power belong to the people," he said.

Okotie assured that since the youths constitute the majority of the electorate, this will swing the result of the coming presidential election in his favour.

He said the youths in this country have been neglected, "you can imagine millions of them coming out of our universities without job and hope for the future
