Photosynthetic reaction occurs in just a trillionth of a second, which is the fastest known chemical reaction. Photosynthesis is the most important biological process, by far. It is crucial to our atmospheres' make up.

Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy to chemical energy and storing it. Sunlight is the purest form of energy. Though it can not be stored or eaten, so sunlight must be converted into other forms, this is why we need photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis takes place in the leaves of plants. The mesophyll is actually where in the leaf that the photosynthesis takes place.

Chlorophyll appears to be green because the color green is reflected, allowing only our eyes to see that color due to the other colors being absorbed. Photosynthesis makes energy out of the colors red and blue.

There are two parts to photosynethesis. Light reaction which is also the "synthesis" in photosynthesis and dark reaction. Light reaction happens in the thylakoid, which are sacs that interconnect by channels. The inner membrane is responsible for forming the functional compartment. In the thykaloid membrane it takes the light energy and converts it to chemical energy. Chemical energy is the potential energy of molecules that is measured in kilocalories. Energy harvested from the light reaction is stored by forming ATP (adenosine triphosphate), a compound that is used for storing energy. The end product of this stage is glucose, though it doesn't end there.

These are then in turn embedded into the photosynthetic membrane. Newly formed glucose molecule has an attached phosphate group. It is then used at once to form sucrose, starch, and cellulose.

Dark reaction doesn't directly need light in order to occur, but it does need the products of the light reaction. Dark reaction takes place in the
