(The Effect of resting on Squeezing Cloth Pins)

Introduction:

The purpose for conducting this experiment is to find out whether  resting / exercise increase the number of cloth pin squeezes.

Question:

Will resting increase  the number of cloth pin squeezes ?

Hypothesis:

If you rest for a minute before squeezing a cloth pin, then you will  be able to squeeze as many times as you exercise.

Materials and Methods:

The materials that will be used to conduct this experiment are a wooden cloth pin and a stopwatch.

Procedure:

• Separate 50 8th grade boys into 2 groups: 25 in control group and 25 in experimental group.
• For 1minute the control group will exercise and the experimental group will rest in the same environment.
• Both groups will squeeze the cloth pin for 1 minute while counting the number of squeezes.
• Record data on data table.
• Compare results.

Independent variable: Exercise or no exercise.

Dependant variable: The number of cloth pin squeezes in a 1 minute.

Control Group : Exercise group

Experimental Group: Resting group

Factors to keep constant:

• Same gender
• Same age group
• Same environmental conditions( The experiment took  place in the MW cafeteria)
• Same type of cloth pin
• Same amount of time of rest / exercise
