Global warming is a theory that has been formulated so recently that the amount of information that has been collected is not nearly enough to thoroughly prove global warming. It seems that global warming has been blown way out of proportion. It has become a popular and touchy issue for the world today, but there are many reasons that show global warming is not actually taking place.

The earth goes through natural cycles of warm and cool periods, and will continue to go through there cycles independent of the effects of humans. For example, the Medieval Warm Period followed by the Little Ice Age. It is very apparent that the average temperature on the earth has increased in recent years, but this is just a continuation of the warming cycle after the Little Ice Age. The Little Ice Age occurred from about sixteen hundred to nineteen hundred, and since nineteen hundred the temperature has slowly been increasing. The noticeable increase in recent temperatures could very well be explained by a continuation of the warming stage of the earth.

The finding of holes in the ozone layer has been a key factor in the theorization of global warming. The releasing of manmade gases is what is said to be the catalyst for these holes. However, these holes could have been there all along. New technological advances are what have allowed for the discovery of these holes, therefore they just would have gone unnoticed until the proper technology could be used to recognize them. Also, the holes in the ozone layer could be part of the natural cycle of the earth. The ozone could become weak in some places and certain spots became weaker holes would form. The ozone then would build itself back up as more of the components could be replenished.

As you can see at this point in time, global warming is only a theory. The fact earth does go through natural warm and cold periods, along with natural variations in the ozone layer must be taken into account. The research regarding
