1. An ionic bond is the chemical bond between two ions with opposite charges that share characteristic of salts.

2. The electron configuration for Na is [Ne]3s1. The electron configuration for Na+ is [Ne] or 1s2 2s2 2p6. The electron configuration for Cl is 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p5 or [Ne] 3s2 3p5. The electron configuration for Cl- is [Ne] 3s2 3p6 .

3. Na+ resembles the noble gas Neon. Cl- resembles the noble gas Argon.

Mass of the empty beaker 98.9 g
